The Salt Lake Olympic Bid Committee is putting on a free concert on St. Patrick's Day to show Utahns how much fun it would be to host the 2002 Winter Games.

The concert, featuring John Denver, America, Eddie Money, John McEuen and the Irish Pipe and Drum Troupe is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on March 17 at Gallivan Center downtown.KUTV Channel 2 and United Concerts are underwriting the cost of the concert, bid committee spokesman Mike Korologos said, "to help generate excitement among people about the bid."

Gallivan Center would be the site of Olympic medal ceremonies if Salt Lake City is awarded the 2002 Winter Games next June by the International Olympic Committee.
