A mudslide destroyed nine houses in La Conchita, Calif., Saturday and forced more than 100 people from their homes. Officials said the ground was saturated from January's rains when the latest storm dropped more water, causing Saturday's mudslide. Weather forecasters were predicting another large storm would hit the area Wednesday.
