Susan Easton Black has been appointed an associate dean of general education and honors at Brigham Young University.
Black will assume a position now held by professor Juilana Boerio-Goats, who will return to full-time service in the department of chemistry at the expiration of her current appointment in August."Professor Black is one of the most beloved teachers on this campus," said Paul Cox, dean of general education and honors. "She has an absolutely unique way of relating to students, routinely receiving evaluations of 6.9 on a scale of 7 from her students. She is also a gifted scholar in the area of early church history, infusing all of her research with a deep testimony of the gospel."
A professor in the BYU College of Religion, Black received her undergraduate degree in political science and history from BYU, mas-ter's degree in educational counseling from the University of California and doctorate in educational psychology from BYU.
