Lyle Edison Clement, 79, of Mapleton, Utah died Monday, March 6, 1995 in Mountain View Hospital of a heart attack. His wife, Zelma Leola Hansen Clement, 74, preceded him in death Saturday, March 4, 1995 at their home of a heart attack.
Lyle was born December 1, 1915 in Talmage, Utah to Jesse W. and Sarah M. Brady Clement. Zelma was born August 12, 1920 in Centerfield, Utah to Charles S. and Mary Alvira Westover Hansen. They were married June 21, 1945 in the Manti LDS Temple.Both were active members of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. They served a mission together to the Chicago, Illinois Temple from 1985 to 1986.
Each was a patient, loving and gentle spouse, parent and grandparent. They will be greatly missed by all who knew them.
They are survived by seven children: Gary L. (Becky) Clement, Australia; David H. (Gale) Clement, Chicago, Illinois; Steven H. (Debbie) Clement, Orem; Carol (Scott) Pepperdine, Spanish Fork; Sherrie Clement, Salt Lake City; Suzette Clement, Mapleton; Patsy Clement, Salt Lake City; and 26 grandchildren. Lyle is also survived by one brother, Ted B. Clement, Orangevale, Calif. Zelma is also survived by five sisters: Ilean Poulson, Duchesne; Velma Lyman, Blanding; Helen Hill, Orem; Carma Allen, Orem; Ardyth West, Castro Valley, Calif. They were preceded in death by their parents, an infant son, Roger and by the following of Lyle's brothers and sisters: Della C. Jensen, Jesse Aral Clement, Warren Clement, Clay Clement, Winton Clement, Vail C. White and Lowell Clement.
Joint funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton White Church, on the corner of Main and Maple St., Mapleton. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 So., Springville or Friday morning an hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
