The casket of President Howard W. Hunter of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is taken into the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square during his funeral Wednesday afternoon. President Hunter died March 3 in Salt Lake City at age 87. During a public viewing Tuesday, 25,212 people filed past the church leader's casket in the Church Administration Building. The line began forming before dawn, with hundreds of people still standing in line an hour or so before the viewing ended at 8:10 p.m. Many government and community leaders and representatives of other faiths were among invited guests at the services. Complete coverage of the funeral will appear in Thursday's Deseret News and in Saturday's Church News section. President Hunter was praised in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday by Sen.
