Norma Zina Mortenson Bennett, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield.

She was born March 14, 1908 in Huntsville, Utah, a daughter of John George and Veda Olson Mortenson. She married Melvin John Bennett, June 4, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away October 31, 1991. She was reared and educated in Huntsville and Ogden, graduated from Ogden High School. She had lived in the Clearfield-West Point area for over 60 years.She was an active member of the Clearfield 5th LDS Ward. Served as Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Relief Society Secretary and Sunday School Greeter. She and her husband served as Ordinance Workers at the Ogden LDS Temple.

She was the Office Manager for W.T. Grants for over 30 years. She was a member of the Clearfield Literary Club. She and Melvin took pride in their home and yard. They received many beautification awards from Clearfield City.

Norma and Melvin were a warm and loving couple, affectionately known as Grandma and Grandpa. They had a smile for everyone. They loved to travel. Norma was always meticulous in her appearance.

She is survived by three nieces, Shirley Mortenson Danielson, Ogden, who cared for Norma as a daughter; Mrs. Russell C. Taylor (Joyce), Denver, Colo.; and St. George; Mrs. Robert W. Earl (Myra-Faye), Zillah, Wash.; special nephew, Eldon H. Bennett, Clearfield. Also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews, a cousin, Laura Hurd, Everett, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Florence Paice, West Point; and Elizabeth Bennett, Sunset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 1995, 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 5th LDS Ward, 326 E. Center Street, Clearfield. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State and Saturday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memeorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
