With acceptance and faith in God's plan, Elmer C. Iorg, age 51, left this life March 7, 1995, after a short, valiant struggle with cancer.
Elmer was born September 23, 1943, in Fort Duchesne, Utah, the fourth son of Ross L. and Lorena Denver Iorg.Graduated from Altamont High School and the College of Eastern Utah. Married Mona Joy McDonald in August 1961, later divorced. Married Joanne Earl, June 25, 1982.
A gentle and loving spirit, Elmer built a positive life with the talents, gifts and experience with which he was blessed. Elmer loved his family, his Indian heritage, the mountains and Alcoholics Anonymous. Elmer was a member for 10 years. Elmer touched many lives with his gentle kindness and left a piece of himself with many. Elmer was a salesman for many years and the last eight years owned his own business.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Joanne; sons: Dr. Eddie C. (Julee) Iorg, Salt Lake City; Rossi W. Irog, Florida; stepchildren: Jackie (John) Herren; Pam (Gary) Snow, West Valley City; Ken (Lisa) Earl, Murray; brothers: Arlys (Beth) Iorg, Hanna; Alan (Leanna) Iorg, Bruce Iorg, Roosevelt; and one special sister, Pala (Steve) Nelson, Roosevelt; nine and one-half grandchildren, Levi, Andy, Chase, Blakelee, McCall, Brandon, Taylor, Lyndsey, Jake and baby Earl. Many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Elmer is also survived by his AA and Alanon family, who loved and supported him on a regular basis. Waiting for him at his new beginning are his Mom and Dad and brother, Rossi and many friends and family who love him.
Some heartaches just can never be explained,
No caring words can take away the pain,
Just one saving thought remains,
There is eternity to know the reason why.
Hold on through all the hopelessness you feel.
There is no earthly pain Heaven cannot heal.
Funeral services Memorial Estates, 5850 So. 900 East, Friday, March 10th, 2 p.m. Viewing, Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road.
