Lamar L. Burdick, age 85, passed away March 7, 1995 in Richfield.

He was born October 10, 1909 in Sunnyside, Utah, a son of John and Arlettie Clemons Burdick. His parents and grandparents, Mose and Melissa Hitchcock Burdick, homesteaded in the Mountain Home area and there, his father, John Burdick was struck and killed by lightning. Later, Lamar and his two sisters, Tootsie and Lula, lived with their grandparents for several years in Valley City, near Moab, on a ranch. There, Lamar learned to be a cowboy. He married Eula Mae Barrett October 10, 1933 in Clayton, Missouri. She died June 14, 1983. He married Geneal Palmer Ogborn June 14, 1987.At ages 72 and 81, Lamar had heart bypass surgeries with a total of 11 bypasses. At age 80, he underwent carotid artery surgery.

He grew up tough, had a hard time through the Depression, was a hard worker and knew how to fix every- and anything.

He is survived by his wife, Geneal of Richfield; two sons, Hugh of Glenwood, and John of Panguitch; three daughters, Jacqueline Conwell of Grand Junction, Colo.; Dolores Rowley of Bakersfield, Calif.; Jerri Ashurst of Salt Lake City; stepchildren, Sharon Jenkins, Wanda Jenkins, and Lonnie Ogborn, all of Blackfoot, Idaho; Laurel Van Leuven of Pocatello, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry and a granddaughter, Jodi Lynn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
