Jens Gerhard Heiberg, a member of the International Olympic Committee, will speak at Brigham Young University Friday, March 17, at noon in 250 Spencer W. Kimball Building.

Heiberg, who was also the organizer and CEO of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, will present a lecture titled "Organizing and Managing the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics."A member of the Olympic Committee since 1994, Heiberg will be in Utah visiting at the invitation of the Salt Lake City Olympic Bid Committee. His visit is part of the IOC site selection process.

Because of time constraints on the IOC members, Heiberg will only be at BYU long enough to present his lecture. The rest of his time in Utah will be spent in the site selection process.

Besides organizing the 1994 Lillehammer Games, Heiberg is the president of the Lillehammer Paralympics. He is also a member of the Coordination Commission for the Winter Olympic Games-Nagano '98, and the Evaluation Commission for the XIX Winter Olympic Games in 2002.
