The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., has published a 48-page booklet on handicapped access to its 16 museums and galleries and the National Zoo.

The booklet gives information on accessible public transportation and parking, entrances, and access for wheelchairs and guide dogs. It also tells about large-print, Braille or audiocasette captions for exhibits, and special tours and publications for people with disabilities.The Smithsonian, which includes the National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, the National Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of American History, is the largest museum complex in the world, with more than 140 million art works, historical items and scientific specimens in its collection.
