Emer (Jay) John Gardner, 70, died March 7, 1995 in Salt Lake City, as a result from an auto pedestrian accident.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1915 in Roosevelt, Utah to Emer Huish and Guynette Gardner. Married Helen Elizabeth Smith on June 12, 1944 in Salt Lake City.He graduated from the University of Utah in 1950 with a B.S. in Business. He was a distinguished salesman with many honors. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the Coast Guard during World War II stationed on the EastWind. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed walking and reading. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was very loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
Survived by a son, Alan Gardner, Salt Lake; daughters, Janet Yerzy, Salt Lake, Joan Symes, Salt Lake; Shauna Neal, Fallbrook, California; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Dearl, Reid and Rodney Gardner; sister, Fay Stone. Preceded in death by his wife.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 11, 1995 at the Canyon Rim Third Ward Chapel, 3051 South 2900 East. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the ward on Saturday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
