CAPTION ONLY: CLINTON MAKES A SPLASH IN HAITI

President Clinton chats with soldiers cooling off in a kiddie pool in Port-au-Prince Friday. Clinton's trip to Haiti marked the official end of the six-month U.S. mission to restore democracy. With U.N. Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali he participated in an afternoon ceremony turning over Haiti's security to a 6,000-member U.N. force that will include some 2,400 U.S. soldiers. Speaking at the National Palace, Clinton warned that the road ahead would be rough for an impoverished land long used to violence.
