DEATH: BELVA L. GROVES

Belva Louise Haight Groves (Toni), age 71, passed away March 29, 1995 at her home.

Born January 18, 1924 in Redondo Beach, California to Jack Floyd and Vernis Reynolds Haight. Married Henry Eugene Groves, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. Member of the LDS Church.She grew up in Salt Lake City. She lived in Hawaii during World War II, survived Pearl Harbor, and served as a volunteer ambulance driver. Returned to Salt Lake and became one of the first female bus drivers in the country. She moved to Chicago and became a housewife for several years. After a long battle with cancer, she returned to her Heavenly Father. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survived by her mother, Vernis R. Haight, her husband, Henry Eugene Groves, both of Salt Lake; three daughters, Geri Ballard, Bonnie Groves, Trudy Hoffman, two sons, William F. Sisam and Henry Eugene Groves Jr., all of Salt Lake; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her father, Jack F. Haight, her brother, Orlen Jay Haight and two grandaughters, Trina Sisam and Rebecca Ballard.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, 1995, 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
