DOWNPOUR IN L.A. CAUSES OUTPOURING FOR HOMELESS

When the heavens opened up over a new Whoopi Goldberg movie in Newark, N.J., they dumped rain on the actors and manna on the homeless.

Saturday's rain canceled an elaborate traffic jam scene for the movie "Bogus," which meant that the steaks, chickens, pork loins and fresh fruits that had been prepared for the cast and crew were donated to St. Rocco's homeless shelter instead."Bogus" tells the story of a Newark businesswoman who finds herself suddenly responsible for her dead friend's son. The film, directed by "Moonstruck" director Norman Jewison, also stars French actor Gerard Depardieu as the boy's imaginary friend.
