SALINA'S PEPSI OUTLET MOVING TO LARGER SITE

The Pepsi Cola Co. outlet in Salina is moving into an expanded building of 17,000 square feet, nearly triple the space of the building that has been in use.

An open house will be planned for the public in April, according to manager Pete Freitas. The Salina outlet's distribution area extends from Fairview, Sanpete County, on the north; to Panguitch, Garfield County, on the south; and from Delta on the west to Fish Lake on the east.

The new expanded facility, therefore, could have been built somewhere else in the area but Salina was the preferred location, Freitas reported.

He noted a 10 percent to 12 percent distribution volume growth from the Salina warehouse in the past four years. He added that between 200,000 and 300,000 cases of beverages are delivered to area retail outlets from the facility each year.

The wholesale operation employs 10 people, and the new building is near the highway south of Salina.
