SALINA GETS BARGAIN; MILLARD AIMS TO SELL BOWLING ALLEY

Two local governments in south-central Utah are involved in property transactions, one a lease and the other a contemplated sale.

Salina has found a great bargain in leasing a building that's been appraised at $41,000 for only $1 per year, and Millard County commissioners want to sell the bowling alley in Delta.Salina will lease the building owned by Utah Powerfor two years, beginning May 1.

A few months ago, Utah Power abandoned a satellite office that was housed in the building in Salina. The utility's headquarters is in Richfield, about 18 miles south.

Meanwhile, the Millard County Commission has asked for sealed bids to be submitted for purchase of the Plaza Lanes in Delta. Commissioners have set a minimum sale price of $140,000 and said the county-owned facility will be available when the current lease expires in September.
