DEATH: C. M. ""CHUCK"" FRIER

Chester M. Frier, 76, died April 9, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born Sept. 7, 1918 in Elk City, Okla., the son of John M. and Martha Horton Frier. Married Norma Conder in May 1937 in Salt Lake City; later divorced. Married Hilga Judd on June 28, 1949; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a long line driver for Garrett Freightlines for 32 years, retiring in 1980. Active member of the LDS Church and served as a temple worker following his retirement, and was active in Sunday School and Priesthood callings. His lifelong hobbies included hunting and trap shooting. He loved horses and dogs, and successfully trained many good field dogs. Worked for Gallenson's Sporting Goods for several years, until failing health forced his retirement.

Survived by wife, Hilga; sons, Eugene M. (Jolene) Frier, Charles R. Frier, daughters, Betty (Lee) Street, Joleen (Larry) Johnson, Mary Spratt; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; sister, Iva Lee Gillian. Preceded in death by daughter, Roberta Ritter.

Funeral services Thursday, April 13, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Midvalley 8th Ward Chapel, 8060 South 615 East. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
