DEATH: ALICE GAARSOE

Alice Marie Gaarsoe, age 13, passed away at her home on Palm Sunday, April 9, 1995. As we remember our Lord's death and resurrection this week, we feel strong assurance of Alice's continuing life.

Born January 30, 1982 in Salt Lake City to Gregory and Karen Evans Gaarsoe.Attended Western Hills Elementary. Member of Trinity United Methodist of Kearns. Enjoyed singing in both school and church choirs, loved writing short stories, painting sun catchers, and being helpful and useful. She generally enjoyed arts and crafts and was especially pleased to make and give presents. Alice will be remembered for her hugs and her courageous acceptance and endurance of a difficult life.

Alice's best times were at Camp Hobe (for cancer kids and their siblings), where she loved the counselors, the activities, and her fellow campers. Her greatest thrill came, though, when she and her family flew to Orlando, Florida to visit Disney World and take a cruise to the Bahamas. For that her family is very grateful to Make-a-Wish.

Survivors: parents and sister, Sarah of Kearns, Utah; paternal grandparents, Bernhard and Phyllis Gaarsoe of Salt Lake City; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Evans of Midvale, Idaho; all her aunts, uncles and 17 cousins. Preceded in death by her maternal grandfather.

Funeral services Thursday, April 13th, 1:00pm, Trinity United Methodist Church, 4290 W. 5415 South, under the direction of Larkin Mortuary. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.
