SHRUB FIRE DAMAGES CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

An outdoor shrub fire Monday along the west wall of Central High School melted several of the building's exterior windows, causing $35,000 in damage.

There were no injuries. Investigators are calling the blaze "suspicious."Crews arrived at the school, 3031 S. 200 East, about 6 p.m.

to find evergreen bushes outside the counselor's office engulfed in flames, according to South Salt Lake Fire spokesman Kevin Bowman.

"We had the actual fire out in about 2 minutes and spent the rest of the time ventilating smoke that was inside the building," Bowman said.
