BONNEVILLE SLIPS PAST LAYTON

Bonneville didn't score a run until the bottom of the final inning when they produced five of them to squeeze out a 5-4 victory over Layton in Region 1.

Tyler Gladwell reached second base on a dropped third strike and an overthrow to get the Lakers going in the seventh inning. Andy Orgiesen ripped a triple, knocking in two runs and Kevin Cottle had a two-run single for Bonneville.Elsewhere in the state:

Northridge 11, Clearfield 6

At Northridge, the Knights scored seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take the game from Clearfield. Damion Gutierez hit a two-run homer while Tod Kap added three RBI.

Weber 8, Roy 7

At Weber, Troy Iverson beat a throw to first to drive in the winning run from third giving the Warriors a one-run win.

Ben Lomond 8, Logan 6

At Logan, Trevor Howell of Ben Lomond made a double play to end the Grizzlies hopes of a rally in the seventh inning.

Sky View 10, Ogden 4

At Sky View, Cory Kranbule knocked in four runs, three of them on a home run to lead the Bobcats past the Tigers.

Bear River 6, Mountain Crest 3

At Mountain Crest, the Bears remained undefeated in league play with the win.Region 10

Lehi 6, Union 2

At Lehi, the Pioneers picked up a win behind strong pitching which included 11 strikeouts.

Region 12

Manti 14, Millard 3

At Manti, Brian Kiesel had six RBI while Alan Cox struck out 11 - allowing just two hits.

Region 13

Grand 12, Parowan 3

At Parowan, Chris Robinson's grand slam and double added up to doom for the host Rams.

South Sevier 5, Kanab 0

At South Sevier, Nick Roberts registered 16 strikeouts - including the first 12 Cowboy batters - to set the stage for the upset.

Dixie 14, Spanish Fork 11

At Spanish Fork, Phil Baker powered Dixie with three triples and a home run for three RBI.

Gunnison 10, North Sanpete 5

The Bulldogs scored five runs in the 14th inning to win it. Chris Hunt had four RBI.

Beaver 6, Milford 3

At Beaver, Lance Smith recorded 11 K's as the Beavers prevailed.

Springville 8, Cottonwood 2

Sammy Giles had three hits for the victors.
