Brandon Dahlquist and Travis Telford have been convicted of first-degree felony murder in the shooting death of a purported Riverdale drug dealer.

The body of Troy Weston, 20, was found near Willard Bay on March 12, 1994. Witnesses said he may have been slain because he engaged in bad drug deals. The 1st District Court jury returned the verdict late Tuesday after four hours of deliberation. Sentencing was set for May 30.

Dahlquist, 20, claimed he was at home, coming down with a drug hangover, when the killing occurred.

Telford, 23, said he was at the scene to sell Weston a gun, not shoot him. Telford's attorney, Mike Bouwhuis, portrayed Telford as an unwilling participant, afraid for his life.
