CHURCH NEWS: DEATH

Fauntleroy Hunsaker, 91, former mission president and member of the General Church Welfare Committee, died March 29, 1995.

He served as president of the Southern States Mission from 1963-1965, when he was called as a member of the General Church Welfare Committee, traveling throughout the United States, Canada and the South Pacific.An optometrist who worked much of his life in East Los Angeles and Alahambra, Calif., he was called in 1950 as the first president of the East Los Angeles Stake, when it was divided from the Pasadena Stake. On that occasion, his friend, Howard W. Hunter, became president of the Pasadena Stake.
