The Davis County Head Start program has been recognized by the National Head Start Association as a "Program of Achievement."
The Davis County program, headquartered in Kaysville, is one of four Head Start programs nationwide to be honored. The award recognizes Head Start programs that have made "an exceptional impact in the lives of children, families and communities they serve." It is sponsored, in part, by the Carnegie Foundation."It is a special honor to receive this recognition during this first year of our (quality) initiative," said national director Ron Herndon.
Davis County director Kathy Shaw will accept the honor during Head Start's 30th-anniversary celebration at the national association's conference in Washington, D.C., April 20.
