Robert Lincoln Marchant, age 86, died April 16, 1995 in South Jordan.
He was born February 12, 1909 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Robert Henry and Ivy Winegar Marchant. He married Izora Reed, July 13, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 12, 1991.He was active in the LDS Church, having served as president of the Uruguay-Paraugay Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, member of the counsel, and in the various auxiliary organizations as well as serving in the Mexican Mission as a young man. He was also an ordinance worker and sealer in the Salt Lake and Jordan River temples.
He is survived by one son and four daughters, Kent Marchant, South Jordan; Beth Marlow, Orem; Linda Carter, Clayton, North Carolina; Louise Brenay, Mesa, Arizona; Afton Reid, Aurora, Colorado; three sisters, Vera Marble, Provo; LaVerda Allen, Rupert, Idaho; Marian Evans, Kaysville; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son and one daughter, James Leon Marchant, Marie Marchant, one brother and two sisterws, Julian David, Dorothy Irene and Golda Jewel Marchant.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19 at 12 noon, Cottonwood First Ward Chapel, 5913 Highland Drive. Friends and loved ones may call Tuesday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Wednesday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
