Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Howard Lavern Mattingly, 74, passed away April 15, 1995, in West Valley City.

Born October 11, 1920 in American Falls, Idaho, a son of Walter and Mattie Pearl Lloyd Mattingly. Married Helen Frieda Kell, April 11, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho. Howard served in the Army for three years during World War II and he worked with Galigher Company for 35 years.Survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen, of West Valley City; daughter, Judith Christiansen, Bennion; three sons, Dean (Michelle), of California; Reid (Becky) and Steven Mattingly, both of West Valley City; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Grace Palmer, Pocatello, Idaho; and Dean Todd, of California. Preceded in death by two sons, Howard and Harold, one grandson, one step-great-great-granddaughter, five brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 19, 2 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, in Sandy. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
