NEITHER QUAYLE WILL SEEK GOVERNORSHIP OF INDIANA

Dan Quayle has decided against running for governor of Indiana, his top aide said.

Anne Hathaway, executive director of the political action committee Issues '96, said the former vice president telephoned her on Easter and said neither he nor his wife Marilyn would be a candidate."He pulled out of the president's race to spend time with his family, and he felt the governor's race would take time" away from his family as well, Hathaway said in Tuesday's Indianapolis Star.

Quayle announced in February that he would not run for president. In March, he set a Memorial Day deadline for making up his mind about a gubernatorial run.
