HEALTHTRUST SETS UP SCHOLARSHIP AT U. MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR DOCTORS DAY

To mark National Doctors Day, which was Thursday, a health maintenance organization has established a scholarship fund at the University of Utah's School of Medicine.

The $10,000 donation by HealthTrust Utah will help the state's high school graduates who plan on attending medical school to become doctors."We feel this is a wonderful opportunity to give a gift which will grow through the years," said Kent Wallace, western regional vice president of HealthTrust Inc.

"Each March 30, when Doctors Day rolls around, we wonder how to honor our physicians . . . what can we do that hasn't been done before?" he asked. The answer was to set up a scholarship fund.

"By establishing this scholarship fund, HealthTrust will help ensure that Utah continues to have some of the finest physicians in the country," he said. Wallace presented a $10,000 check to the School of Medicine.
