DEATH: MARVA H. AVERETT MASON WATTERS

Our loving mom, grandma and great-grandma, Marva H. Averett Mason Watters, 85, finally reached her goal. She passed to everlasting joy with her beloved husband, April 18, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Feb. 15, 1910 to Norma Mitchell and David R. Hiatt in Payson, Utah. She was sealed to Elmo M. Averett in the Salt Lake Temple, April 25, 1929. He died Sept. 14, 1939. She married Ray M. Mason in the Manti Temple, July 29, 1945. He died in 1970. She married Gilbert Watters March 1, 1978. He died in 1983.After being widowed the first time, she worked for Geneva Steel four years. She married her brother-in-law, Ray Mason, whose wife died of cancer. He helped her raise her family and loved them all. She was a school lunch cook for 14 years in the Sevier School District. She also cooked for the Senior Citizens in Salina, Utah where she met Gilbert Watters. She taught in the Sunday School, Primary and YMMIA and was a genealogy committee member. Her courageous example has inspired each of her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Noreen Mason (Gayland), Betty A. Jensen, both of Salt Lake City; LaRae A. Ogden (Calvin) of Richfield; one son, Robert E. Averett (Patsy) of Springville; 18 grandchildren and 82 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the Springville Stake Center, 260 South 600 East. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
