SIGN-LANGUAGE DICTIONARY NOW PUBLISHED ON CD-ROM

HarperCollins Interactive has come out with the first American Sign Language Dictionary on CD-ROM now that a book version has sold 300,000 copies.

Says vice president and publisher Carol Cohen, "American Sign Language is the third most common language in the United States. In eight states, students can now study ASL as an accepted second language equivalency."The CD-ROM version covers more than 2,200 commonly used words, phrases and idioms. The user can access video clips, illustrations and descriptions of requested signs. There is also a slow-motion feature for precise views of hand and finger movements and facial expressions.

The CD-ROM and book sell for $79.95.
