BRAVES MAY MOVE CAMP TO DISNEY WORLD

The Atlanta Braves may be going to Disney World.

The team is thinking about moving its spring training camp to Disney World in 1998, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported today. The newspaper said Disney and the Braves' parent company, Turner Broadcasting, have had preliminary talks about building a $15 million baseball complex on the grounds of the central Florida theme park. It would not be ready until 1998, the newspaper said.

Braves general manager John Schuerholz confirmed that a contact has been made with Disney, but declined further comment. Reggie Williams, a former NFL player and director of sports marketing for Disney, said his company "does not comment on speculation."

The Braves have trained at Municipal Stadium in West Palm Beach since 1963, but that lease runs out after this spring.
