Bad news for the people who bought the Plaza from Donald Trump: It doesn't even rank among the nation's top 100 hotels, according to the latest Zagat Survey.

Trump, who peddled off the Plaza last week for $325 million but maintains a partnership role, wasn't surprised by the results."We're in the midst of a major restoration program, doing hotel rooms, public rooms, and other facilities," Trump spokeswoman Norma Foe-der-er said. "Next year, we hope to be No. 1."

A Saudi prince and a Singapore-based hotel company bought the Plaza and were spending $28 million on renovations. Zagat did, however, give the Plaza a grade of "very good to excellent."
