Ida Mae Smith, age 71, passed away on April 18, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on March 31, 1924 in Beaver, Utah to Bartlett and Christina Paxton Baldwin. She married Walter Scott Bacon, Jr., in 1943 in Los Angeles and he preceded her in death. She married Joseph William Smith, April 23, 1951 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death in 1992. Ida was an active member of the LDS Church, DUP and a member of the Alpha Pi Omega Sorority in California. She belongd to the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Union Pacific Railroad Old Timers. She loved to go hunting and fishing with her family. She loved her family very much. She always gave of herself to others.She is survived by a daughter, Christine Smith of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, James H. and Donna Baldwin, Sandy; sisters, Gladys Roesner, Salt Lake City; Flossie Johnson, Milford; Ethel Blackner, Beaver; Dora McMullin, Beaver; and Shirley and Verdon Glazier, Cedar City. She was preceded in death by her son, Rolland Scott Bacon and two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 1995 at 2 p.m. in the Milford 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary in Milford on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Milford Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary.
