Carrie Roean Myers Bastian, age 96, our beloved mother, grandmother, great- and great-great-grandmother, passsed away peacefully at her home in Green River on April 19, 1995 with all her family at her bedside.
She was born November 17, 1898 in Ovid, Idaho to John and Amanda Olsen Myers. She married George Anthon Bastian, whom she met while attending school in Salt Lake City, in the Salt Lake Temple October 3, 1917.She will be especially remembered for her beautiful voice. As a child and throughout her adult life she sang solos at many church programs and funerals.
She is survived by five sons, Newell (Vonda), Moab; Jacob, Calvin (Phyllis), Keith (Bette), Ernest (Lorna), all of Green River; and two daughters, Myrtle Bair, Denver, Colo.; and Marie B. Cavanaugh (George) North Ogden; two sisters, Bernice (Bill) Calvin, Lake Point; and Golda Jensen, Cheyenne, Wyo.; 32 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Ila Tanner, Dewean Robis, and a brother, Earl.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, 1995, Green River LDS Ward Chapel, with viewing at 12 noon, and services at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served by the LDS Relief Society. Interment, Green River (Elgin) Cemetery directed by Fausett Mortuary.
