Q. How many different kinds of plants are there in the world?

A. Plants began to grow on Earth about 400 million years ago. Today, experts estimate that there are about 280,00 types of plants in the world. Angiosperms, of flowering plants with seeds, make up most of the plants. And these plants are mostly on the land.
