John Morgan Clayton, age 80, passed away on April 21, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 19, 1914, in Salt Lake City to John Clayton and Gail Morgan Clayton. Married Bonnie Hales on February 22, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.John graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. He served during World War II as a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps attached to the Medical Corps. He worked at Western Supply Co. as Sales Manager until he retired in 1983. He was also a past president of Intermountain Electrical Assoc.
He held many positions in the LDS Church, but especially enjoyed teaching the youth as well as volunteering at the juvenile detention center. His family was always his greatest joy and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie; children, Toni (Rick) Farr, Alpine; Kelly M. (Judy) Clayton, Highland; six grandchildren, Alicia (Mike) Hudson, Eric Farr, Tristin, Justin, Matthew, and Marissa Clayton; brothers, Richard W. Clayton, Salt Lake; Darwin S. Clayton, Hayward, Calif.
Preceded in death by an infant son John, parents, and sisters Berenice Purchase and Gail Haltam.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 1995, at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Instead of flowers, if desired, the family would suggest contributions to a charity of your choice.
