DEATH: GORDON MAX THOMAS

Gordon Max Thomas, 58, of Orem, Utah, died Saturday, April 22, 1995 in Provo of cardiac arrest and complications of diabetes.

He was born March 27, 1937 at Provo, Utah, the son of Max and Verda Batchelor Thomas. He married Janice White September 5, 1963 in the Manti LDS Temple. Gordon worked for First Security Bank in many capacities, including Vice President of Operations.An active High Priest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in manycallings including bishop, and as the first stake president of the Orem Utah South Central Stake (Lakeridge). He served as district chairman of the Utah National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Gordon is survived by his wife, of Orem; three sons and six daughters, Michael J. and Pam Thomas, American Fork; Curtis M. Thomas, Ontario, Calif.; Diane C. Thomas, Patricia and Scott Walker, Jana K. Thomas, Lisa A. Thomas, Jennifer M. Thomas, Nathan K. Thomas, and Brenda L. Thomas, all of Orem. He is also survived by six granddaughters, Karissa, Tasha, Natalia, Karlie, Kelsey, and Annekke; his mother, Verda Thomas, of Provo; and two sisters, Marilyn Bullock, New Castle, Colorado; and Barbara Kelley, Orem. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, at 12 noon in the Lakeridge Stake Center,158 East 1100 South, Orem. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 600 East 800 North, Orem, and Wednesday at the stake center from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
