DEATH: LAMAR (WISH) BEVERIDGE

LaMar (Wish) Beveridge, 69, of Pleasant Grove, died Apr. 22, 1995 at the American Fork Hospital.

He was born May 19, 1925 in Highland, Utah, a son of Alexander and Mary Walker Beveridge. He married Latella Rowley, September 17, 1948 in Murray, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was an active High Priest living in the Manila 1st Ward. He served for five years in the Provo Temple, 18 months in the Apia, Samoan Mission, in the Church Employment Office in American Fork; as a home teacher, in the Elders Quorum presidency among other callings.

He was employed at Geneva Steel for 37 years, retiring in 1983. During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 21/2 years. He was in the South Pacific in Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

He enjoyed being with his family, the outdoors, his animals, farming and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Pleasant Grove; four daughters and a son, Mrs. Val (Elaine) Larson, Neola; Mrs. Michael (Irene) Simons, West Jordan; Mrs. Stan (Joyce) Boren, Pleasant Grove, Kendall Beveridge (Nancy), Highland; Mrs. Sherman (Donna) Bond, Kirkland, New Mexico; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and a sister, Darrell Beveridge, Orem; Ellen Brown, Pleasant Grove; Merrill Beveridge, Santa Barbara, California. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beth and Bernice.

Services will be Wednesday at noon in the Manila 1st Ward, 3986 West 8800 North in Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South at 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with full military rites by Dist. 4 of the V.F.W.
