Megan Hayes' bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the winning run for Brighton as it picked up a crucial 4-3 Region 4 victory over American Fork Friday.
The hit was the second of the game for Hayes and a much-needed one for the Bengals, who lost an early 2-0 lead but tied the score at 3-3 in the fifth inning.Kim Burton gave up just six hits in picking up the win for Brighton, which improved to 11-9 overall and 5-3 in region play. American Fork fell to 3-4 in the Region 4 standings.

At Fremont, the Silver Wolves continued their dominance in region play by downing the Warriors. Fremont improved to 10-0 in region play with the win.

At Bonneville, Melinda Webber drove in the game-winning run in the fourth inning to rally the Lakers past the Knights. JoLynne Godfrey had a pair of hits for Bonneville (8-2), which trailed 3-1 early.
Logan 6, Ben Lomond 2
At Logan, Kelly Wessells had a triple, homerun and three RBIs to lead the Grizzlies over the Scots. Amanda Cangelosi topped all batters for Logan (11-7, 7-2) with three hits.
Bear River 3, Mountain Crest 0
At Mountain Crest, the Bears remained in a tie for second place in the region by blanking the Mustangs. Wendy Harimoto went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in a run for Bear River.

At Sky View, the Tigers took the Bobcats by storm - nearly doubling them up in Cache County.Region 7

At Woods Cross, the Wildcats fell behind early but rallied back to sink the Titans. Jill Bearnson had a homer and three RBIs for Woods Cross (4-5).

At Dixie, the Flyers kept their postseason tournament hopes alive with a big home victory over the Panthers.
Cedar City 19, Hurricane 9
At Cedar City, the Lady Reds scored nine runs in the first inning and added seven more in the third to blow away the Tigers. Makenzie Rollo drove in three runs and Michelle Dawson knocked in two more for Cedar City (10-4, 5-2).
Wasatch 8, Park City 4
At Wasatch, Christy Shepherd and Robin Bowthorpe each drove in a pair of runs to help the Wasps bury the Miners. Shepherd had a pair of doubles for Wasatch (4-3).

At South Summit, the Eagles rallied from an early deficit in the first game and used a 10-1 edge late in the second game to sweep the Wildcats. Natalie Tuttle drove in three runs and Shelly Nixon had a pair of doubles in the first game for Millard (9-3), while Patty Palmas had a triple and two RBIs in the second game.

At North Summit, Erin Gould and Karen Greenhalgh paced the offensive attack for the Wasps as the stung the Braves for a doubleheader sweep.

At Grand, Tristan Wilson blasted a grand slam homerun and a bases-loaded triple as the Red Devils put the heat on the Cowboys. Wilson drove in nine runs in the game and added a double for a perfect hitting game for Grand (3-3), which had every player smack at least one hit.
South Sevier 16, San Juan 12
At San Juan, the Rams bounced back from their loss to Grand on Monday by bucking the Broncos and handing them their first region loss of the season.
