DEATH: GRACE HOME HERBERTSON

Grace H. Herbertson, 80, of Los Osos, died April 25, 1995 at a San Luis Obispo Hospital.

Mrs. Herbertson was born August 1, 1914 in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to living in San Luis Obispo County for the past 11 years, she had resided in Salt Lake City for 14 years. She emigrated to the United States in 1969, and had just recently become an American citizen. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served as Primary president for 17 years, then as a member of various choirs. In her youth Mrs. Herbertson was employed as a fish processor on the Clyde River in Glasgow, Scotland. Mrs. Herbertson was later employed as a professional nanny in California, then by Brigham Young University as a dorm mother in Provo, Utah, before she retired. She was an avid reader of good books and enjoyed sharing her Scottish sense of humor. Her husband, William Herbertson, preceded her in death in 1973.Survived by her son, Arthur Herbertson and his wife, Dinah, of Logan, Utah; her daughter, Grace Henderson and her husband, Forrest, of Los Osos; one sister, Ishbell Dyer, of Arbroath, Scotland; two brothers, Bill Forbes and Hugh Forbes, both of Glasgow, Scotland; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 1, 1995 at 2 p.m. at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane. Funeral Directors, Cottonwood Mortuary.
