Salt Lake police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Sunday afternoon in the Jordan River.
Canoeists discovered the body under a bridge at 500 S. 1200 West about 3:45 p.m., said Lt. Carroll Mays. The victim, a white male in his 30s, apparently had not been in the water very long, Mays said.A Salt Lake County search and rescue team was summoned to help remove the body, which was stuck amid some pilings under the bridge.
The body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine cause of death. Mays said there was no evidence of a crime at the scene.
