DEATH: MAURINE S. ELGGREN

Maurine S. Elggren, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully on April 1, 1995.

Born February 17, 1914, to Ira Orson Spencer and Rose Ellen Berry Spencer in Salt Lake City, Utah. Maurine attended LDS High School where she was vice-president her senior year, and the University of Utah where she was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.She worked in Washington, D.C., where she met Donald Jay Elggren. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, worked in Washington, D.C., and returned to Salt Lake to raise their family. Maurine served in many positions in the LDS Church, enjoyed her sisters and her many friends, and found great joy in her family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don; her children, Mardy (Allen) Erekson, Jay (Bailey), Leslee (Don) Blatter, and Ted (Linda); as well as her sister, Beth (Lou) Mallory; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 12 noon, at the Grant 4th Ward Chapel, 1111 East Charlton Avenue (2800 South). Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park.
