DEATH: JAMES ""ROY"" ASHBY

Our gentle, loving example and friend, James "Roy" Ashby, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 2, 1995 at the age of 63 due to complications of cancer.

Born September 1, 1931, in Murray, Utah to Charles Prosser and Lucile Jensen Ashby. Married Arlene Jeppson June 16, 1954, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduate of Jordan High School, Veteran of the Korean Conflict, former truck driver for Federated Dairy Farms, owner of Precision Masonry.A stalwart member of the LDS Church, Roy was a friend to all and found great joy in serving others. His selfless attitude and sense of humor endeared him to all. He was a hard worker and great provider.

Survived by his wife, Arlene; eight children, James A. (Dawn), RaChell Jensen (Hal), Layne R. (Jeanie), Lynette Jenkins (Russ), Suzette Holt (Rick), Klint S. (Tricia), Heather and Calee; 21 grandchildren; brothers, Bryce and Spencer; sisters, Dawnetta Erickson, Carma Swensen.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 1995, at 12 noon at the Sandy Hillcrest Stake Center, 8485 South 1000 East. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, and at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Wednesday. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
