FORMER WEBER JAILER GETS 60 DAYS HOME CONFINEMENT

Former Weber County Jail supervisor Edward Chahanovich will not be serving his sentence behinds bars.

Instead, Chahanovich was sentenced Thursday in 2nd District Court to 60 days home confinement after a no-contest plea earlier this month to three lewdness charges.Judge Michael Lyon also ordered Chahanovich, 44, be tested psychologically and pay $1,850 in fines.

Defense lawyer John Caine said jail would be too severe and too dangerous for Chahanovich. Deputy prosecutor Bill Daines agreed.
