HEARTRIDE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH

The first American Heart Association HeartRide Saturday, May 20, will raise raise money for cardiovascular research.

HeartRide starts and ends at the administration building of Alliant Techsystems, 4950 S. 8400 West. People can either participate in a 25- or 40- mile route.Riders check at 8 a.m., and staggered starts begin at 9 a.m. The bike route will be paved and marked, and have rest stops, refreshments, mechanics and first aid. Registration is $15 per rider.

Company and civic group teams of four or five riders are encouraged. A trophy will be presented to the company that has the most riders and/or raises the most money.

Each rider who raises a minimum of $50 in personal sponsorships will receive a HeartRide T-shirt or water bottle. Other prizes are given when more than $100 is raised. The rider raising the most money will win a mountain biker from Pedersen's.

Registration for HeartRide is at any Pedersen's Ski and Sports or at the American Heart Association, 645 E. 400 South.
