The 9th Annual Countryside Classic, the Panoramaland Pedal, will be June 10-11 to benefit the American Lung Association of Utah. Riders have a choice of riding a 55-mile or 120-mile course over a one- or two-day period. Participants must pay a $25 registration fee, which includes one night's lodging and food.
The first 250 people to register by May 8 receive a tire tube, patch kit and tire lever set from Schwinn, a bike tune up from Bike Line and a T-shirt. The first 180 registrants can reserve a bed at the Wasatch Academy. Those registering after can camp on the soccer field or obtain local lodging on their own.Adults are asked to raise a minimum of $200 in pledges and those 17 and under $100 in pledges. Incentive prizes will be given to those raising more than $200.
Riders are encouraged to bring their families and friends. Guests will be asked to pay a minimal charge for the facility use. Register for the event at a local First Security Bank or contact the American Lung Association at 484-4456 or 1-800-LUNGUSA.
