A U.S. company with water park experience is set to take over operation of Raging Waters this season.
City officials expect to announce Monday that they've inked a deal with the company to keep the summer water park afloat."It's an operator in whom we have confidence that they can run a safe and profitable season," said Roger Black, management services director.
The company also is expected to sign operation agreements with Fitraco, a Belgian pension fund that owns the equipment in the water park, Black said.
Barring unforeseen complications, Black expects the company to kick off the season on Memorial Day, its traditional opening day.
In December city official disclosed that the former park operators, Raging Waters Salt Lake City Ltd., was struggling to stay financially afloat.
