Chelsy Hale, a 16-year-old junior from Spanish Fork High School, is the winner of the Utah County Fair's fair booklet cover design contest.

Hale's winning entry, which depicted the fair's 1995 theme of "Blue Jeans and Country Dreams," netted her $100, as well as a free pass to the fair's Buckaroo Rodeo Competition Finals.Hale, who plays clarinet in the Spanish Fork High School Marching Band and saxophone in the school's jazz band, is also a member of the National Honor Society. She said she will use her cash prize to pay for travel expenses for a Utah Valley Concert Choir.

The contest was open to all Utah County high school students and 4-H members. All of the entries will be on display at the county fair, which runs Aug. 16-19 at the Spanish Fork City Fairgrounds.

"Chelsy is a very creative individual who loves to paint and draw. She is also an exceptional student," said Linda Clark, fair publicity director.
