Johnny Pappas, age 70, passed away following a short illness on April 4, 1995 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 24, 1924 in Price, Utah the son of Pete and Dia Pappas. Married Jean VanValkenburg on April 15, 1951 in Elko, Nevada.Graduated from Carbon Junior College and the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He had a long career as a commercial artist and salesman, winning numerous awards for top salesman and much community recognition for his artistic achievement. After his retirement he pursued his love of art and received numerous awards for his work.
Survived by his wife, Jean Pappas; sons, John, Mike, Steven, and Christopher; daughter, Kathy; son-in-law, John Self; daughters-in-law, Leslie, Katie, Teresa; 11 grandchildren; mother, Dia; brother, Dr. James Pappas, his wife, Peggy and family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 1995, 11:00 a.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where a Greek Orthodox prayer service will be held Friday, April 7, 1995, 6:00 p.m., with a viewing following 6:30-8:00 p.m. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
