INVESTMENT UNIT OF 1ST SECURITY HAS NEW CHIEF

Sterling K. Jenson has been elected president of First Security Investment Management Inc., a subsidiary of First Security Corp., according to Spencer F. Eccles, chairman and chief executive officer.

Jenson succeeds H. James Darcy, who resigned to move to California.He started with First Security in 1990 as vice president and senior portfolio manager of the investment management firm. He had 13 years of increasingly responsible assignments in investment management, most recently as vice president and trust investment manager of First Interstate Bank of Nevada.

He also was vice president and trust management manager for West One Trust, has been a senior security analyst for Smoot, Miller, Cheney & Co. and was a security analyst and portfolio manager in the investment department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
