Youth fight violence

Salt Lake City

Teens are invited to "stomp out violence" at a United Youth Jam sponsored by the Salt Lake Youth City Government.

When: Saturday, April 8, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: The Gallivan Center Plaza, 200 S. State St.

What else: The event is free for Salt Lake City-area junior and high school-age youth. The youth government also will distribute information about ways teens can help improve and protect their community.

"I think that young people get a bad rap sometimes in society," said Youth Mayor Frank Leonard. "We want to make a difference in our neighborhoods."
